Weekly Goal Planner
Earning stays fixed. Writing, health and reading are built around it.
Weekly targets
| Area | Target | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Earning | 55–60 hrs, stretch 65 | Fixed. A floor and a stretch keep a slow week from feeling like failure. |
| Writing | 10–12 hrs: 5 sessions, 5,000 words or 10 poems, plus editing and submitting | Equal priority, the route to a writing career. |
| Reading | 6 days, 180 pages | Craft study, with one flex day. |
| Exercise | 5–6 hrs: 3 strength, 3 cardio, daily walks | About 250 minutes of moderate activity. |
| Social media | 4 hrs maximum | Spent posting your own writing. |
| Sleep | 49 hrs, no night under 6 | An average can hide very short nights. |
| Socializing | 2 events | One planned in advance. |
| Rest | 1 day with no earning work | Sunday by default; absorbs what slipped. |
Making room for writing
- Protect one fixed block. About 90 minutes right after waking, treated like a shift. Five of these plus one longer weekend session.
- Turn social media into publishing. Post poems, excerpts and short essays so your audience and portfolio grow together.
- Use dead time safely. Voice-note ideas while parked between rides, and listen to audiobooks or craft podcasts while driving.
- Let writing earn. Tech and IT writing, one pitch a week, 2–4 magazine or contest submissions a month, and a weekly blog or newsletter post.
Weight and exercise
- At 86 kg and 5’8”, BMI is about 28.8. The standard healthy range for your height is roughly 55–74 kg; Indian guidelines use a lower cutoff, near 68 kg.
- A safe pace is 0.25–0.5 kg a week. First milestone: 81–82 kg in about 3 months.
- Strength on Mon, Wed and Fri; cardio on Tue, Thu and Sat. Walk 20–30 minutes daily, since driving is long sedentary time.
- Food matters more than exercise for weight loss. Aim for planned or home-cooked meals 5 days out of 7, with more protein and fiber.
- Start with 3 sessions plus walks for two weeks, then build up. Check with a doctor first if you have heart, joint or blood pressure concerns.
Milestones
- 3 months: steady habit, 12 or more pieces posted or published, a simple portfolio page.
- 6 months: first paid piece or accepted submission, and a small regular readership.
- 12 months: regular writing income. Reduce earning hours only once it reliably covers the gap.
Weekly check-in on Sunday: words or poems written, pieces published, submissions sent, writing income.
